    All physicians are US based, licensed, and board certified specialists.

    All of our physicians are board certified in their specialties - highly qualified professionals dedicated to providing fair, unbiased, impartial medical opinions regarding claimant functionality. Our doctorate level neuropsychologists and psychologists are experts in their fields and in assessing functionality.

    All of our physicians are Board Certified by the ABMS in their specialties, and a number of our physicians are certified in more than one specialty. Examples of boards are the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN), the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), and the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR). Examples of subspecialties are Cardiology, Hematology and Infectious Diseases, all of which are subspecialties of Internal Medicine.

    UDC has 50 credentialed nurses with experience in medical, surgical, and behavioral health areas. They have strong clinical experience, as well as experience in disability insurance review. Our panel includes nurses with additional expertise in mortality reviews, underwriting, life care planning, and legal nurse consulting.

    Our nurses write clinical reports that summarizes the key medical history and offers an opinion about physical and psychological functionality.

  • Expert Vocational Consultants

    All CRC’s are credentialed in their field and based in the US.

    UDC’s vocational resources have extensive experience providing: Occupational Analyses, Transferable Skills Analyses, Labor Market Surveys, and Vocational Analyses. We have the expertise to analyze a claimant’s vocational potential, create a reasonable vocational rehabilitation plan, and develop life care plans.

    UDC has vocational consultants that are experienced in vocational evaluations of claimants and their vocational situation and capabilities. This may be useful for your case management approach and determining what types of assistance is available in helping an individual get back to work.

Long Term Disability

UDC clinicians have expertise and experience with all aspects of LTD claims. Our clinicians write medical file reviews focusing on evaluating restrictions and limitations. Vocational experts can address occupational related claims issues.

Workers Compensation

UDC physicians evaluate the medical aspects of worker compensation claims. We provide reports addressing examiners questions about diagnoses, causation and apportionment, relatedness and appropriateness of treatment, functionality, permanent impairment ratings as needed. 

Long Term Care

UDC has a proprietary based Long Term Care Claim Assessment Manual in preparation in our case reports. Claim assessment is performed on a case-by-case clinical assessment basis and is primarily oriented towards ADL’s.  In addition, we consider medical condition(s), any cognitive loss, medications, morbidity related to long term care and disability and any life expectancy factors caused by social issues, the loss of independence, and environmental factors.

Voluntary Work Place Benefits

UDC uses clinical knowledge to review health, dental, vision, life, disability, critical illness, AD&D, and cancer claims.  UDC’s longevity in the benefits field and our broad range of board-certified specialist can review and expedite your claims.

Mortality Risk Reviews

Physicians and/nurses use ICD Codes and other methods of review and analysis, such as medical literature review, to determine life expectancy based on the medical history and the co-morbidities of the claimant. 

IME Management Services

UDC can serve as an IME Quality Assurance Resource on your behalf for IMEs that are performed by vendors other than UDC.  Before a final IME report is submitted, the draft report is sent to UDC Quality Assurance team to work with the IME physician utilizing UDC’s QA template. We resolve points of concern to then be signed off on by the IME provider.  In this manor, UDC serves as an independent resource for the delivery of properly vetted IME reports.

Life Waiver Reviews

UDC disability experts review claims where waiver of premium during a period of inability to work is at issue. As appropriate, our vocational team can assist in Occupational Analysis and Transferable Skills Analysis pertaining to the claimant.

FMLA Reviews

Our FMLA clinicians can preform medical record reviews. Our vocational staff are experienced in returning employees to work and finding reasonable accommodation.  We can work directly with the claimant’s attending physician to assist in their return to work status.  UDC provides assistance with any worker compensation accommodation that may be required.

Expert Witness Testimony

UDC is well regarded for our expertise in working with attorneys in forensic medical screenings. We offer Forensic Medical Evaluation in Plaintiff and Defense cases including acting as Initial Advisors to devise a case strategy or Expert Witness Testimony for cases we are directly involved in.

Self Administered Health Plans

UDC works with businesses, municipalities, and government agencies that manage their own benefit plans. We offer medical evaluation of their employee’s function.
